GeomorphIS Supports the AEP San Diego Annual Awards Event

GeomorphIS, LLC is proud to once again be a co-sponsor of the Association of Environmental Professionals (AEP) San Diego Chapter, Annual Awards and Scholarship Banquet at the Bali Hai Restaurant, San Diego, 26 September 2013. Each fall, the San Diego Chapter of AEP recognizes the best in technical and environmental documents and celebrates the accomplishments of local agencies, firms, and professionals at this annual event. The event is also an opportunity to provide scholarships to student members who have demonstrated exceptional academic achievement in the environmental field. Proceeds donated by the sponsors and attendees are dedicated to San Diego AEP’s scholarship program. In addition to co-sponsoring the 2013 event at the “Sunset Cliffs” level, GeomorphIS staff helped in event planning and coordinating the volunteer awards jury that reviewed and rated each of the nominated documents.

US Fish and Wildlife Service Awards GeomorphIS Task Order to Prepare Yellow-Billed Cuckoo Critical Habitat EA

The US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), Sacramento Fish and Wildlife Office, has tasked GeomorphIS, LLC to produce an Environmental Assessment (EA) for designation of Critical Habitat for the proposed threatened Western Distinct Population Segment of the Yellow-billed Cuckoo (Coccyzus americanus). The proposed critical habitat is located in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah, and Wyoming. GeomorphIS NEPA planners, avian specialists, and GIS analysts will work with the USFWS multi-regional team to prepare the Draft and Final EAs, incorporating public and agency comments on the proposed listing.

NAVFAC SW Awards California Gnatcatcher Survey Task to GeomorphIS

GeomorphIS has been awarded a task order under our Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest (NAVFAC SW) natural resources IDIQ contract to conduct the 5-year coastal California gnatcatcher (Polioptila californica californica) surveys at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment Fallbrook, California during the 2014 season. The coastal California gnatcatcher is federally listed as a threatened species.
