US Forest Service Tasks GeomorphIS to Conduct Yellow-Billed Cuckoo Surveys

The US Forest Service, Coronado National Forest, issued GeomorphIS a task order under our multi-year Biological Survey IDIQ contract to conduct Western Yellow-billed Cuckoo (YBCU) Surveys within the Safford Ranger District, Arizona. GeomorphIS team member BIOME will conduct the protocol surveys in the Pinaleno and Galiuro Mountains during the spring of 2017.

The US Forest Service, Coronado National Forest, issued GeomorphIS a task order under our multi-year Biological Survey IDIQ contract to conduct Mexican Spotted Owl (MSO) Surveys within the Safford Ranger District, Arizona. GeomorphIS team member BIOME will conduct the protocol surveys in the Pinaleno Mountains during the spring of 2017.

GeomorphIS Updates Wildland Fire Review Guide for NPS

The National Park Service (NPS) tasked GeomorphIS to utilize the recommendations in the review-of-reviews final report (previously prepared by GeomorphIS) to revise the NPS’ existing wildland fire program review guidance documents. GeomorphIS and team partner, LarchFire, LLC, will revise the main document and associated appendices in coordination with the NPS Branch of Wildland Fire Chief, in order to improve the NPS’ regional program review process.

 

GeomorphIS to Prepare RAMP and EA for BLM Yaquina Head

The BLM has awarded GeomorphIS a task order under our GSA PSS contract to prepare a Recreation Area Management Plan (RAMP) and Environmental Assessment (EA) for the Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, along the central coast of Oregon. GeomorphIS and team members, including DockIT Consulting and McIntyre Environmental, are preparing the RAMP according to the the BLM guidelines of “Planning for Recreation and Visitor Services”, BLM Handbook H-8320-1; and the EA according to the the BLM NEPA Handbook  H-1790-1.

 

GeomorphIS to Provide Least Tern/Snowy Plover Habitat Management Support

Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC SW) has tasked GeomorphIS to provide Least Tern/Snowy Plover Habitat Management, on Marine Corp Base Camp Pendleton, in San Diego County, California, during 2016-2017. The project areas are located on Blue Beach and Salt Flats surrounding the Santa Margarita River estuary and at White Beach in the vicinity of Aliso and French Creek Lagoons. GeomorphIS and team member Apex Contracting and Consulting, Inc. (Apex), will install and remove the perimeter fence protecting the bird nesting colonies.
