|
A/E
Services for VA San Diego Hospital New Facilities Design
GeomorphIS is supporting the A/E Prime with environmental compliance
and surveying services for a Veterans Affairs Medical Center facilities
design. GeomorphIS is providing topographic surveying, environmental
assessment, and phase I preservation tasks required for construction
at the VA San Diego hospital complex. |
|
US
Forest Service Hazardous Fuels Reduction
GeomorphIS is providing environmental planning services to the
USFS in support of the Los Angeles River Ranger District’s future
fuels and vegetation management activities in the Camp Trask and Loomis
Ranch areas. The GeomorphIS Team was contracted to survey and report on
biological, air quality, hydrological, and visual quality factors needed
to identify extraordinary circumstances to be considered in the District’s
NEPA planning process. |
eCoastal
Geodatabases for Los Angeles Shoreline Data
GeomorphIS assisted the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Los Angeles District
by building and implementing geodatabases for the Coast of California Storm and
Tidal Waves Study (CCSTWS). The eCoastal database schema was developed by USACE
as an enterprise geodatabase solution for the management of coastal resource
information. GeomorphIS also developed raster imagery geodatabases, developed
standardized mapping templates for the District, created map series, and provided
technology transfer and training to USACE staff. |
Desert
Tortoise Mortality and Density Study
The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has undertaken studies to
determine the effect of fencing on desert tortoise mortality and population
densities along highways in the Mojave Desert. GeomorphIS has provided
Agrarian Research with development of transect locations and maps (for
approximately
100
miles
of survey transects),
field surveying, and database development. |
|
ACB-1
Geospatial Integration Services
GeomorphIS supported the Navy's Amphibious Construction
Battalion One (ACB-1) exercises at Camp Pendleton through implementation
of GPS tracking (of vehicles and vessels), deployment of TerraConcepts'
GeoIntel MapBook solution, and staff training and field support.
These capabilities allowed ACB-1 staff to capture
and analyze near-real-time
spatial data
for
tactical and strategic
mission analysis and decision-making. |
Caltrans
Kleinfelder Team
Hazardous Waste Site Investigation
GeomorphIS is working with Kleinfelder Consultants to support aerially deposited
lead investigations at planning sites along interstate highways. GeomorphIS provides
mapping of laboratory analysis results at sampling locations and produces GIS
geodatabases containing lab analytical results linked to sample location characteristics.
This information will guide soil handling procedures during construction. |
|
Camp
Pendleton Grow the Force Planning
GeomorphIS supports
EDAW | AECOM with planning and environmental assessment tasks required
for Grow the Force construction and development underway at Marine Corps
Base Camp Pendleton. GeomorphIS has mapped environmental constraints
throughout proposed construction areas, created new GIS data delineating
habitat types important for threatened and endangered species, mapped
watersheds throughout the Base, and created map series for NEPA planning
and reporting documents |
|
Marine Corps Air Station Miramar
Integrated Natural Resources Management Plan (INRMP)
GeomorphIS provided GIS analysis and mapping products for the MCASM
INRMP, assessing relationships between the military mission and impacts on biological
resources and concerning topics such as land use and training area constraints;
vernal pools; and distributions of species of special concern such as Willowy
Monardella, California Gnatcatcher,
and Least Bell's Vireo.
|
|
Navy
Medical Center San Diego
Hazardous Materials Business Plan Mapping
GeomorphIS provided GIS and mapping support for approximately three
dozen Navy medical and dental clinics in Southern California. Mapping
products are included in the Navy's Hazardous Materials Business
Plans, as well as Storm water Management, and Pollution Prevention
Plans. Data in various formats, including CAD, GIS, and TIF were
gathered as well as field data for features such as hazardous materials,
storm drains, hydrants, and wells.
|
|
NAVFAC
Environmental Management GIS Services
GeomorphIS provided GIS services to Tetra Tech ECI for Naval Facilities (NAVFAC)
environmental monitoring and restoration and Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC)
activities at California installations including Hunters Point, Alameda, Concord,
Miramar, North Island, and Moffett. GIS was used to create graphics and maps
for the Navy, regulators, and for public information. Processing included querys
of
the master Oracle database, aerial photography incorporation into GIS, and collaboration
with subject matter experts, deriving spatial analysis layers such as contamination
plumes and groundwater contours.
|
Joint
Protection Enterprise Network (JPEN) Project
JPEN is a rapidly prototyped, command and control capability designed to prevent
security attacks at Department of Defense facilities through the
sharing of integrated Force Protection Information.
Working with New Age Systems, GeomorphIS provided GIS support that included
ESRI ArcIMS Internet mapping and ArcSDE spatial database products. |
