NAVFAC SW Awards Vernal Pool/Wetland Monitoring Task to GeomorphIS

Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest (NAVFAC SW) has awarded a task order to GeomorphIS to provide vernal pool and streambed/wetland restoration mitigation support to the Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Miramar, located in San Diego County, California. The GeomorphIS team includes Apex Contracting and Consulting, Inc. (Apex) and Alden Environmental. The mitigation project is in compensation for loss of habitat for the federally listed endangered San Diego fairy shrimp (Branchinecta sandiegonensis) and for loss of vernal pool wetland. The purpose of this project is continued management, monitoring of the Vernal Pool Restoration Site and associated populations of federally listed species, the Streambed and Wetland Restoration Site, and monitoring of vernal pools adjacent to the construction site, all associated with the MV-22 In-Line Fueling Facility Construction Project at MCAS Miramar.
