GeomorphIS-Algonquin Team to Conduct Cultural Resource Surveys for NRCS, New Mexico

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), New Mexico Office, has tasked GeomorphIS and team member Algonquin Consultants to conduct cultural resource inventories for proposed NRCS conservation practices in Guadalupe, Rio Arriba, Santa Fe, San Miguel, and Mora Counties, New Mexico. After completing the initial literature review, the GeomorphIS team will conduct an intensive pedestrian cultural resources inventory of the indicated Areas of Potential Effects (APEs) to identify historic properties that may be adversely affected as a result of the proposed undertaking(s). The APE for these ten projects total approximately 4,025 acres of private and New Mexico State Trust lands The planned conservation practices and buffers guided the development of the APE for the purposes of these projects.
