NAVFAC SW Tasks GeomorphIS Team to Conduct Avian Surveys on MCAS Camp Pendleton

Naval Facilities Engineering Command Southwest (NAVFAC SW) has issued GeomorphIS a task order under our 5-year IDIQ to conduct avian surveys on Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton (MCAS CP), California. GeomorphIS will use our long-time partner, the San Diego Natural History Museum (SDNHM) to conduct the presence/absence surveys, nest monitoring, and nestling color banding for both the Least Bell’s Vireo (Vireo bellii pusillus) and Southwestern Willow Flycatcher (Empidonax traillii extimus) occurring within the riparian areas of MCAS CP. The surveys will be conducted in accordance with conditions set forth in the U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service Biological Opinion (1-6-95-F-02) dated October 1995 for Programmatic Activities and Plans in
Riparian and Estuarine/Beach Ecosystems on Marine Corps Air Station, Camp Pendleton. Subsequent to the field survey, the GeomorphIS/SDNHM team will submit a final report and GIS database containing the results of the survey.
