The Salmon Field Office of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has contracted with the GeomorphIS-Cougar Environmental team to conduct common stand exams of of 310 plots over 3,000 acres in east-central Idaho using the EcoSurvey framework. The finished product will result in an updated, EcoSurvey database and GIS vegetation layer with attribute files. This data will be used for future project planning.
The US Forest Service (USFS), Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) hired GeomorphIS to provide project management support to the NV Energy Utilities Resilience Corridor Project. The GeomorphIS Project Leader will coordinate planning activities among the LTBMU, NV Energy, the utility’s third-party environmental consultant, and USFS Enterprise Team staff. The Project Leader will assist the group in developing a planning decision to improve forest health and reduce fuels along NV Energy powerlines within the Lake Tahoe Basin. This decision will be modeled from the Liberty Utilities Resilience Corridors Project.
