BLM Tasks GeomorphIS to Conduct Rare Plant Surveys in New Mexico

The US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) New Mexico state office has tasked GeomorphIS and partner Elliott Environmental Consulting (EEC) to conduct clearance surveys for three USFWS endangered plant species in order to assess potential impacts to these species prior to a BLM land exchange with the State Land Office. This survey data will be used to inform Biological Assessments for each species during consultation with the USFWS and as part of the NEPA process. Surveys will take place on 2,310 acres of BLM land within the boundaries of the Roswell and Rio Puerco Field Offices, and the Las Cruces District Office (LCDO). Surveys will take place in 2017 during the peak blooming seasons of each relevant species.
